Therapy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of licensed providers such as chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and physical therapy assistants.
Your responsibilities may include assisting with therapy sessions, maintaining equipment, documenting patient response, and ensuring a positive and safe therapy environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in Therapy Sessions:
Support licensed providers in the implementation of therapeutic interventions and exercises.
Collaborate with providers to implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Provide assistance and guidance to patients during therapy sessions.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that therapy equipment and tools are in good working condition.
Perform routine inspections of therapeutic devices and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Keep treatment areas organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
Patient Documentation:
Accurately record and maintain patient therapy forms and other relevant documentation so licensed providers can accurately document in patient care plans and visit notes.
Communicate effectively with the ordering and/or supervising provider to update them on patient progress and any unintended response to therapies.
Patient Support:
Foster a positive and supportive therapeutic environment for patients.
Provide encouragement and motivation to patients during therapy sessions.
Address patient questions and concerns, escalating issues to licensed providers as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and treatment control parameters as established by providers.
Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
Report any incidents or accidents promptly and follow appropriate procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in a healthcare or therapy setting is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
Empathy and patience in dealing with patients facing physical or emotional challenges.
Basic understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions.
Work Environment:
The Therapy Technician will primarily work in a chiropractic therapy environment and/or medical rehabilitation department, always working under the supervision of a licensed provider and according to the rules and laws governing the use of therapy technicians.
The role may involve standing for extended periods, limited lifting of up to 20 pounds, bending and stooping, and frequent if not constant verbal and tactile interaction with patients.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
