Responsibilities include reviewing case files, tracking cases on a court calendar, and drafting court orders and other documents.
This position is distinguished from Judicial Case Manager, Senior in that this class publishes court calendars for an assigned judge, whereas the latter sets, schedules, and publishes a court calendar in addition to providing lead direction to assigned staff.
Examples of Duties Manages an assigned judge's court calendar, including scheduling dates and times for hearings, motions, and trials; provides information to attorneys and other concerned parties regarding cases on court calendar; and acts as a liaison between departments and the assigned Judge as required.
Retrieves and returns original papers to the courtroom, monitors, and tracks cases on court calendar, and prepares various reports related to assigned cases.
Plans, schedules, and advertises assigned court calendars for jury or non-jury trials, motions, bond arrangements, and judgments to be entered; and responds to all inquiries, including notifying litigants and attorneys regarding dates and times of court cases.
Performs various duties in the courtroom, such as coordinating paperwork, recording dispositions, and providing technical guidance, and information to attorneys as required.
Updates criminal and statistical information, reports, and dispositions on the computer, and other criminal court systems as required.
Researches and responds to requests of the assigned judge, including preparing appropriate correspondence related to assigned court cases.
Checks the status of prisoners and prepares transit orders for the State Board of Corrections for inmates to appear in court.
Strikes, swears, and polls jurors as required.
Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes, and per established procedures, receives, and reviews various documentation, including discovery motions, mental health assessments, traffic reports, warrants, and calendars; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate.
Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, including court orders and other documents for judge's review and official signature; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes, and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
Communicates with County City officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, laborers, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education and
Experience:
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and three (3) years of related legal and/or court-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Associate's degree preferred.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must maintain a valid Georgi's License.
Affirmation as a Sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court.

Knowledge, Skill, Abilities/ Supplemental Information Knowledge of local government operations, judicial and court related programs, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs.
Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
Ability to get along with others, and work effectively with the public and co-workers.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evening meetings.
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.

Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, and accounting purposes.
Ability to operate a copying machine.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
